Consistency (02/05/19)

I know a situation at the beginning of the blog where I told my cousin that it is hard to keep the consistency and sometimes I’m feeling like to throw everything away. Then he said something which was beautiful and powerful at the same time. „Imagine that blogging is like studying 3 years. Sometimes we have the strength to continue and sometimes we wanna throw everything away.“ and this opened my eyes – just because it made me clear that UP and DOWNS are part of our growing process. We can’t expect good times without going through hard times!

One of the greatest things I learned with this blog is that everything good comes with consistency. Consistency and patience are the keys when it comes to having success – not only with blogging, but also in a relationship, job, in family situations etc.

Sometimes I post articles or captions which didn’t reach the audience as much as I expected. Disappointed from myself I could have thought „Okay no one likes what I am doing“ or „I don’t reach what I want. So, better to save the time and invest in something which brings me more positive feedback.“

The problem with this is, that we tend to throw away something great without seeing the potential behind it. It is about us to love a person or what we do when it seems to be the hardest.

Dark Sides of Social Media (07/05/19)

Scrolling through your feed and double tapping the posts you like? Maybe you will like what I am saying now, too – maybe not. At the weekend I read that Instagram is testing in Canada at the moment how it will be if they would stop displaying the numbers of likes under a post.

Regardless of my opinion it made me think for a while how addicted we are to social media. Our self-esteem and confidence is somehow pushed by the likes and comments we get – I won’t exclude myself from this phenomen. Did you know that the dopamine shots which are sended by the brain as soon as we get positive validation on social media are equal to the dopamine shots a drug addict feels when he has a new dose of heroine?

Likes, comments, numbers are the definition of today’s popularity and a reason for a number of depressions. Don’t understand me wrong. I love to get positive feedback too but nowadays a lot of people depend on social media and define their own value by the interaction ONLY, simply because they didn’t learned it different at home („But what would others say?“)

No wonder that a lot of young people suffer from mental health issues – studies show that there is a relationship between those both factors. Mental health is important and somehow affected by social media. What do you think about the possible changes on Instagram?

The Power of Empowering Eachother (12/05/19)

The last days I thought about how it is that more and more amazing women out there are finally finding the courage to speak out. Blogs are flourishing like new flowers in the spring. And I am happy about this development!! It feels like minorities and „Querdenker“ (persons who are thinking different) have a voice and are heard.

Fearing that I will get competitors? NO. Simply NO. And here is why. I think Empowering each other and especially Empowering other woman, blogs, organizations has the beautiful effect that our voice gets stronger and stronger. At the end of the day it is not about likes, followers and shares – it is more about the message we are sending.

And I truly wish that in the next 5-10 years more bloggers will find the courage to build up something beautiful – because we can learn from eachother. I am not perfect, I still have to learn a lot and this is only possible when as much people as possible are love what they do and put their message out into this world!

I love to empower my guest authors, other blogs and finally myself. Because at the end of the day everything that matters is our message and the power of our voice.

Life, Money and Minimalism (16/05/19)

„Life is so easy. Why do we make it so hard?“ – Jon Jandai. Who else loves to watch TED Talks? After watching his speech I was fascinated. Here is why.

We run to work – every day. Even in our free space at home we try to be productive as much as possible. We work, work and work, buy a car or a house and are in debt – even while we work we keep being in debt. The big fat wedding, the biggest house and two or more cars – we often consume more than we need. And it made me think of my own behaviour. I have a wardrobe full of clothes and „nothing“ to wear, lots of pair of shoes etc. and still I feel sometimes as if I could buy more, to reward myself for working so hard. In my eyes working hard is admirable and there is nothing wrong about buying something for reaching a goal. What made me think is, that I often buy more than I NEED and use. But why?

We complain in our everyday life that time is rare and we have no time for certain things and yet we forget to look what we are doing to have time. Instead we exchange time and acknowledgment for money, are in debt and wonder why we are so unhappy. Because we just do everything to satisfy ourselves with money instead of taking time for ourselves and finding back to ourselves. His speech gave me a new meaning for „Money isn’t everything“. Chin up! – ALWAYS! (22/05/19)

When you stay true yourself and love what you do, there will be always people who try to bring you down.

People who project their own insecurities onto you

People who don’t want you to do better than them

People who want their part of your success

People who want to be like you but don’t have the courage to break barriers

People who want to silence your voice

People who benefit from the fear of others

People who don’t like that you are different

People who try to find mistakes – no matter what

People who don’t like that you embrace your individuality

The secret of some people’s „Lift yourself up while bring others down“ – mentality is that they have to change themselves to meet you on your level. So, they try to bring you down – keep that in mind when you earn destructive criticism, hate and negative emotions. You are already on a higher, different level – otherwise there wouldn’t be a reason to throw dirt on you.

Even it is hard, ignorance is the best choice at these moments – don’t focus your attention on negative energy.

Give your Life a Twist (23/05/19)

When we are facing the abyss of life, we have the choice to overcome the obstacles or get carried away by the downward spiral. If you look into the past of certain inspirational personalities like @oprah, you quickly realize that they were mentally naked at a certain stage of their lives.

Demoted to the brink, they took the chance to make the best of their fate. And surely they have also learned that we have nothing to lose in life but ourselves. If you have already fallen deeply several times in your life, you know what it’s like to be just for yourself.

They have managed to give their story a twist. Can we do it, too?

Ist der Weg das Ziel? (29/05/19)

Ist der Weg das Ziel oder ebnet das Ziel unseren Weg? – eine Frage, die ich nicht eindeutig beantworten kann. Ich finde es sehr wichtig, Ziele im Leben zu haben und diese zu verfolgen. Dennoch bin auch auch ein Verfechter davon, dass ein zu frühes, vernarrtes Festlegen des Zieles, uns darin hindert, uns zu entfalten.

Was ich genau damit meine? Wenn wir ein Ziel verfolgen, geben wir alles, um dieses zu erreichen. Wir investieren unsere gesamte Energie, um dort zu stehen, wo wir immer sein wollten. Zu einem Ziel gehört aber auch ein Weg. Rechts und links tauchen immer neue Möglichkeiten auf, Möglichkeiten, die uns sogar zu einem höheren Ziel verhelfen können.

Das Leben besteht nicht nur darin, verbissen einem Ziel zu folgen, sondern auch seine Möglichkeiten auszuschöpfen und den Mut zu haben, von dem Weg abzukommen. Welche Ansicht vertretet ihr?
